Sulfur is the eighth most abundant element in all living organisms and is found in especially high concentrations in the connective tissues of joints, where it is essential for maintaining normal function. MSM (Methylsulfonyl Methane), Glucosamine sulfate and Chondroitin sulfate are naturally occurring sulfur-containing compounds.

Some people are allergic to sulfites, sometimes incorrectly called sulfur (it is impossible to be allergic to sulfur). Sulfites are formed by reaction of water in food or wine with sulfur dioxide food additive that is done to kill bacteria and to slow down oxidation
